Mission

Improvisation is the foundation of all contemporary forms of comedy.

However, improvisational theater is unlike any other form of comedy. It is crafted in the moment and it remains momentary. What proof does an improviser have of their talents? The last show they did? A list of venues or cities in which they’ve performed? These are abstract and cannot be shared with their community or the world.

The IMPROVideo Project attempts to answer the question, “what do you do after the live show?” It is a basic production format for creating video shorts through improvisation.

The purpose of the IMPROVideo Project is :

• to provide improvisors with another venue with which to develop their craft and express themselves;
• to provide experienced improvisors with an opportunity to direct an improvised story in a finished format;
• to provide the participants with a recorded work;
• to raise funds for charity.
